Surajkund (Har), Feb 16 : The 15-day Surajkund&aposMela'(fair) which was witnessed by nearly eight lakh people, including over 10,000 foreigners, today came to an end.
It finished with a colourful show of folk dances and music from the&apostheme state' Madhya Pradesh and the host state Haryana.
Attending the concluding function here, state Governor A R Kidwai distributed prize to various artisans.
More than 7.5 lakh visitors attended this year&aposs fair which saw participation of foreign countries such as Egypt, Thailand and SAARC countries sans Pakistan and Maldives.
"Sri Lanka has shown keen interest in organising a similar Mela. They have sought mutual cooperation from Surajkund Mela Authority. This implies that the popularity of the Mela is growing day by day," Kidwai said.
The Governor also interacted with the craftspersons, including those from Egypt, SAARC countries and Thailand and the folk artists.
