MCS officers decry, condole

Imphal, February 18 : The All Manipur MCS Officers' Association has strongly condemned the brutal murder of Kasom Khullen SDO Dr Thingnam Kishan and his two staff in the strongest term.

The association has also condoled the demise of SDO Dr Thingnam Kishan, Driver Rajen Sharma and Mandol Y Token during a meeting held today.

Members present in the meeting also observed a two minute silence as a mark of respect to the departed souls.

After deliberating on the gruesome murder of the three Government employees, the MCS officers resolved to submit a memorandum with a demand to hand over the murder case to CBI for immediate investigation.

Other demands of the memorandum include provision of a suitable Government job to the immediate dependent or next of kin and provision of an amount of not less than Rs 20 lakhs as special one time grant of ex-gratia.

Similar facilities should be provided to the other two staff who were murdered along with the Kasom Khullen SDO.

All cost for the education of the children of the deceased officials should be borne by the State at least up to class XII, it demanded.

Taking into account of the insecure situation prevailing in their respective places of posting, the MCS officers appealed to the Government to take up necessary actions immediately so that the officers can function effectively and efficiently with a better sense of security.

They further asked the State Government to allow them function from their respective district headquarters till appropriate security arrangements are made.

The MCS officers also resolved to take mass casual leave and stage a sit in protest on the day of the aasti.
