AZSU notes intrusion into Chakha Village

Dimapur, Feb 6 : The All Zeliangrong Students’ Union has taken exception to what it alleged to be mental and physical harassment meted out to Chakha villagers by “Maram Thangal region”. Stating that the ‘hasty involvement’ of the said region would intensify the problem and turn it into a tribal issue, the students’ union lamented that the so-called “national workers” can be easily used by vested persons for evil purposes.

This happened recently, a few days ago, stated a note from the AZSU. The union said Rezaimai and Chakha villages have co-existed peacefully for decades as “father and son”. However, in the event of differences, it should be sorted out through dialogue and not through violence, the union stated.

Referring to the underground workers being used by vested interests, the union said “they should have taken a second thought before acting, instead of hastily acting it out with misled information”.

“All the neighboring villagers of the two still lives and ready to witness who is wrong and who is right since they have co-existed with them and moreover Rezaimai is a late-comer living under Chakha’s land,” the All Zeliangrong Students’ Union added.
