MPP calls for PR removal in Meghalaya

IMPHAL, Mar 25 : Dr. L Chandramani, president of the MPP during a press conference at the conference hall of the MPP office said that a joint meeting of north east non-Congress political parties held yesterday at Guwahati unanimously condemned the imposition of President’s Rule in Meghalaya.

He further said that the Meghalaya People’s Alliance even after winning the trust vote in the Meghalaya Assembly, suffered at the hands of the Governor of Meghalaya who misused Article 356 and imposed President’s Rule.

The MPP strongly condemned the act of the Governor and demanded restoration of popular government in Meghalaya.

Prof N Mohendro, common candidate of the MPP, NCP, MSCP and NPP for the upcoming 15th Lok Sabha election from Inner Manipur also said that this Lok Sabha election would not be a mere election, but would be a turning point, an initiation of social and political revolution.

Dr. Nimaichand Luwang, ex-minister, MLA O Joy and RK Anand, MLA also attended today’s press conference.
