Imphal , March 6 : The Joint Action Committee (JAC), formed by local residents to press Manipur government to bring to justice killers of Sub-Divisional Officer Th Kishan and his two staff members, today threatened to launch a series of agitations over the issue.
In a statement here, JAC Convener Y Kapur said they launched a poster campaign (&apospunish murderer cadres of NSCN-IM'(the Naga outfit which allegedly killed Kishan and two officials') from today.
He said there would be huge rally of cycle rickshaws, all over the district tomorrow to press for their demand to punish the Naga militants who killed Kishan and his two staff members on February 17 last in Senapati district.
Manipuris in Delhi would also launch a sit-in protest tomorrow to draw the attention of the national media to the gruesome killings, the statement said.
Official sources said preliminary investigations had revealed that Kishan, a former lecturer of Delhi University who joined Manipur civil service last year, refused to sign paper containing list of"fictitious"names of beneficiaries of the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGS).
