Telegraph picture Imphal, March 7 : Imphal Riding Club emerged champions in the sixth Director-General Assam Rifles Cup State Equestrian Championship at Imphal Pologround today. Imphal Riding Club tallied 36 points to be the overall team champions and Manipur Police SC finished runners-up with 16 points. In the senior show jumping individual event, Th. Gautam Singh of Imphal Riding Club, along with his horse, Mage Maru, won the gold, while T. Pradeep Kumar Singh of Manipur Police Sports Club with his horse Jack claimed the silver. L. Thomson Singh of Meiraba Polo Club and his horse Kabrang won the bronze. In the junior show jumping individual event, Prakash Bhandari of Imphal Riding Club with his horse Laba walked away with the gold while Y. Paikhomba of Imphal East District Equestrian Association took the silver with his horse Sanabi and Th. Jacob of Imphal East District Equestrian Association along with horse Hawk settled for the bronze. Director-general Assam Rifles Lt Gen. K.S. Yadava graced the closing function and distributed the prizes. The closing function was marked by an exhibition of traditional Manipuri polo.
