Imphal, March 20: The team of Manipur Police Sports Club (MPSC) and COSMO Wangkhei will battle in the final match of the 11th Dr Kanti Mukherjee Memorial Invitation Hockey Tournament 2008-09 organized by Manipur Hockey Association at Khuman Lampak Hockey Stadium which is also the largest invitational hockey tournament in the north eastern states of India.
In the second semi-final match played today, COSMO Wangkhei beat South East Youth Organization (SEYO) at 3-1 score and rolled into the final of the tournament.
Both the team played a very tough game.
COSMO harvested two goals out of six penalty corners given in their credit while SEYO despite four penalty corners granted, they could not transform any of them into a score.
SEYO will play with Posterior Hockey Academy Manipur (PHAM) who lost in the first semi-final for the third place of the tournament tomorrow at 2 pm.
M Chingkheinganba of COSMO opened the score at the 12th minute of the tournament in a penalty corner, RK Chittare scored the second goal in the 26th minute and RK Bikramjit scored the third goal in the 64th minute of the tournament.
The lone goal of SEYO was scored by Th Hemjit in the 30th minute of the tournament.
