MCDA, others condemn Lamphel bomb attack

IMPHAL, Mar 20 : The Manipur Chemists and Druggists Association, MCDA, has strongly condemned the act of hurling a hand grenade and seriously injuring of its member Ibomcha Singh, proprietor of the Allien Pharmacy at Lamphel yesterday.

Ibomcha had been serving in emergency healthcare services day and night by making available life saving drugs for the needy patients, and he is now struggling for his life at the ICU of Shija Hospital due to the serious injuries.

The MCDA has at the same time appealed to the concerned party not to repeat such acts in crowded areas in future.

Strongly condemning the incident of bomb blast yesterday evening in front of Shuba Hospital and Assisted Reproductive Centre, Lamphel which resulted in injuring of four persons including two women a sit-in protest was staged today at Uripok Kabrabam Leikai by the locals, including the staffs of the hospital.

Another sit-in protest was also staged at Keishampat junction by the All Manipur Government Drivers and Technicians Association which is affiliated to the All India State Government Drivers Federation, New Delhi demanding producing of the culprits involved in the killing of two drivers of the IFCD last year.

The protestors also demanded the same amount of ex-gratia to be given to driver A Rajen and Mandal Y Token as that given to Dr. Th Kishan, SDO Kasom Khullen.
