Imphal, January 20 : The Chancellor, Vice Chancellor, members of the faculty and students of Manipur University have expressed deep distress over the mistakes committed by the organisers of the Mumbai marathon, that robbed the life time chance of L Aruna Devi to stand on the podium at the end of the race.
In a statement, the PRO of MU said that L Aruna Devi is a former student of the varsity and added that the unfortunate incident has greatly distressed MU.
The university congratulates her, said the statement and added though they appreciate the steps taken by the organisers to rectify the mistake, the damage has already been done.
MU has urged the Athletic Federation of India and organisers of such a prestigious event to ensure that such mistakes do not recur.
