KCP (MC) condoles

The proscribed KCP (MC) has condoled the death of Cpl Ringo and Pvt Athouba during an encounter with a team of 115 BSF at Pidonnu Chingkhong under Lamlai police station at about 9.20 pm of January 14 .

A statement issued by the outfit's military affairs secretary Lanheiba Meitei said that the two comrades fought valiantly till their last breath.

Narrating the day's incident, Lanheiba said that the injured corporal ordered the other KFL to leave the place immediately while Cpl Ringo and Pvt Athouba stayed back and fought a fierce gun battle with the BSF troops.

On being informed about the gun-battle by one KFL to Lanjaba Tengol commander captain Nganba.

A team of KFL led by Capt Nganba rushed to the encounter site to fight with the security forces and to rescue the two injured comrades.

In the ensuing gun fight, the captain also sustained injuries though minor in the fingers, conveyed Lanheiba adding that the captain Nganba has no problem now.

Alleging that BSF DIG GK Sharma did not disclose the exact number of arms and ammunition recovered after the shoot-out, the KCP (MC) detailed that the arms and ammunition lost by the outfit in the shoot-out included one AK-56 rifle, five magazines, 150 live rounds, one pouch of AK magazine, one 2.40 mm lethod gun, eight live rounds of the lethod gun and one pouch of Lethod gun, one 3.9 mm pistol, 26 live rounds and four magazines, one .32 pistol one magazine and one eight live rounds and two Chinese grenades and two knives.

In case the alleged killing of arrested persons and fake encounters continue unabated, the outfit would attack all workers of the ruling Congress party, the outfit cautioned while asking the Chief Minister to look into the matter and put a halt to such killings.

Failure to pay heed to the appeal would constrained KCP (MC) to attack any one related to the Congress party or security forces as and when there is a civil uproar against killing of civilian or excess committed by security personnel.

Seeking the opinion of other insurgent groups on Jeetendra alias Lallumba defiling the revolutionary movement by posing as KCP (MC), the outfit sought cooperation from the people in its "Operation Red Fox" that would be launched to check the pseudo-revolutionary activity of Lallumba.

Lanheiba also clarified that driver Y Shashikumar of Khundrakpam killed together with the two comrades was an innocent civilian and not related to the outfit in any manner.

The outfit also shared the pain and sorrow being endured by the bereaved families of the two comrades.

Y Surjit s/o Y Iboton of Sandrok Makha Leikai was a sympathiser of the party, Lanheiba admitted while alleging that Surjit was shot dead at Kangbongboot Khunjin by a team of Imphal East commandos on Jan 3 after arresting him from near Standard College Kongba on Jan 2.The outfit also conveyed that it shared the pain and grief being endured by the bereaved family.
