Narayan is not fit for MUSU prez: Students

Imphal, April 9 : Students' Unions of eleven colleges under Manipur University today said that Ksh Narayan, who is ignorant of the decision taken by the Manipur University Executive Council, is unfit to be the president of Manipur University Students' Union (MUSU) while also charging him of contemplating to disgrace the University as well as the students.

Speaking to reporters today at DM College of Science's Students' Union office, representatives of the eleven colleges under MU said that the recent impasse at Manipur University has caused disturbances to the academic atmosphere of colleges under the Manipur University.

The students' unions of eleven colleges who addressed the media today include DM College of Science, DM College of Arts, Manipur College, Moirang College, Standard College, Lilong Haoreibi College, Biramangol College, Maharaj Bodhchandra College, Kakching Khunou College, Waikhom Mani Girls' College, and Oriental College.

The students' bodies said that it is very unfortunate that the one who is unaware of the happenings at A-Block, which is just a hundred metres away from the Students' Home, is acting as the head of students' body at the highest temple of learning.

Denouncing the steps taken by the MURC and the SFI in the wake of the assault of the MUSU President Narayan and his colleague, the Students' unions members have also termed their acts without knowing the root cause as 'childish'.

Alleging the MU authority of not bringing amicable solution to the incident on the day of the sit in protest staged at MU Main Gate, the Unions have also said that the Dean of Students' Welfare of the University, Prof Islamuddin is also not fit to occupy his post.
