Dr. Meinya would not be right choice, says MPP

Imphal, Apr 9 : People of Manipur need to think twice whether the concerns of the state should again be handed over to Dr. T Meinya who was unable to save and give a single comment when other politicians were putting up their case for the territorial integrity of Manipur. People would be fools if they want Congress to come to power after so much pain given to the people, said MPP candidate, Thounaojam Chaoba in his campaign at Oinam bazar this evening.

As the election draws near people in the state are being wooed by various candidates but people have failed to realise which candidate would be good for the state in the coming five years, said MPP candidate Th Chaoba. He appealed to the people of Manipur to choose the correct person to bring harmony in the state to fulfill the wishes of the public.

He further noted that the people should adopt a collective stand not to elect Congress or CPI candidates in the Lok Sabha elections. Expressing surprise over the assurance of Rahul Gandhi that the territorial integrity of Manipur would not be compromised, the veteran MPP candidate claimed that it was MPP that persuaded the state legislative Assembly to take a resolution against the election manifesto of the Congress party published during the time of the Assembly elections in Nagaland which endorsed unification of Naga inhabited areas.

People should decide on the contrasting statements made by the Congress leaders while speaking in Manipur that the territorial integrity of Manipur would be safeguarded and that Naga inhabited areas should be unified, while speaking in the neighbouring state.

Addressing the meeting, O Joy maintained that from 545 MPs of India only one was going to represent the valley in the parliament and for that a strong and powerful person was needed to be elected so that he could save the territorial integrity and maintain harmony in the state. The person is non other than Th Chaoba who will be able to face everything and who is also the candidate of Manipur Progressive Alliance formed by four parties named MPP, NCP, MSCP and NPP.

Expressing deep concern over the current issues in the state and the failure of the present government, he also said that when MP Mani Charenamei raised his voice for breaking the territorial integrity of Manipur and uniting all the lands where Nagas are there in Manipur, Dr. T Meinya did not give any comment inside the Parliament. Therefore, it would be very dangerous to give power to Meinya, he said.

He promised that the MPA would bring integrity, law and order, regional balance, identity crisis as well as a change and strong government in the state.

The party meeting was attended by various MPP workers, Dr. L Chandramani, O Joy as well as MLA Ibohanbi and local meira paibis and other local people of surrounding areas.
